Eliza Jane Gilman and Hiram B Carnel

Eliza Jane Gilman was born around 1835 to parents Dudley Gilman and Mary Jane Brown in Richmond, Virginia. She married Hiram Carnel on 20 Apr 1854 in Richmond, Virginia. He was born around 1825 to Mordecai and Nancy? Carnel. He died on 10 Jan 1862 from Typhoid pneumatic at his house on Weatham Piank Road in Richmond, Virginia. She then married William Leach on 23 Dec 1862. He was born on 1823 in New York to George and Francethe Leach. It is unknown when Eliza died at this moment.

Hiram Carnel’s Obituary

On the 10th instant, after a short illness, of typhold pneumonic, at his residence, on the Weatham Piank Road, about 5 o’clock P. M.Hiram Carnell, at the age of thirty-five years.

All is tranquil and serene,

Calm and undisturbed repose,

There no cloud can intervene,

There no angry tempest blown.

“Every tear is wiped away,

Sighs no more shall heave his breast;

Night is lost in endless day–

Sorrow in eternal rest.”

The relatives and friends are requested to attend his funeral, at Sidney Chapel, on Sunday morning, at 10 o’clock.
