Charles Onions was born on 27 Sept 1827 to Samuel Onions and Mary Hitch in Birmingham, England. Charles was a jeweler. Charles Onions married Mary Peers first on 18 Sept 1848. She died in 1874 and then Charles married Amelia Barrow. Amelia was born around the year 1843 in London. Her parents were Joseph and Frances Barrow. Charles and Amelia were married in December 1879.

1861: They lived on Unett St, 6 Court in Birmingham,Warwickshire, England.
Charles Onions was 33 and a Jeweler, Mary Peers Onions was 32, Mary Ann Onions was 12 and a gold chain maker, Caroline Onions was 11 and a gold chain maker, Elizabeth Onions was 9 and a scholar, Samuel Charles Onions was 8 and a Scholar, and Charles Onions was 5 and a Scholar.

1871: They lived on Unett Street, 6 Court 2 House, in St. George, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. Charles Onions was 43 and a Jeweler, Mary Peers Onions was 42, Caroline Onions was 21 and was a Chain maker, Elizabeth Onions was 19 and a chain maker, Samuel Onions was 18 and a Jeweler, Charles Onions was 15 and a Jeweler, and Sarah J Onions was 9 and a Scholar.
1881: Charles Onions was 53 and a Jeweler. His new wife Amelia Barrow Onions was 35. Ada Barrow was 6 and Alfred Onions was 1.

1891: Charles Onions was 63 and a Jeweler, Ameila Barrow Onions was 47, Ada Onions was 16 and Jeweler’s Polisher, George Onions was 9, William Onions was 7, and Florence Onions was 4.

1901: Amelia Barrow Onions is widowed, aged 54, and a Shirt Machinist. Alfred Onions was 21 and a gold ring maker, William Onions was 12 and a fancy ring maker, and Florence Onions was 14 and a paper box maker.

Edwin Toussaint and Florence Onions

Edwin Toussaint was born on 17 June 1887 in Birmingham, England. He was a son of Joseph Toussaint and Ann Dean. He married Florence Amelia Onions on 28 May 1910 in Birmingham, England. She was born on 1 July 1886 in Birmingham, England. Her parents were Charles Onions and Amelia Barrow. Edwin and Florence came to America through Ellis Island a few times. Edwin came first in 1913 to Newark. (I can not find this in passenger records). His wife and child Edward came over in 1914. At some point they all went back to England. Edwin then came back to America in 1920. Florence, Edward and their other son Aurthur then came back over in 1921. Edwin also put his name as Edward on some documents. Edwin died in the early 1960s. Florence died in March of 1967.

3. Florence Rose Toussaint (4 January 1922-24 March 2006) married Francis ‘Frank’ Foster.
