Oliva Vertine Watkins and Thomas Judkins Stallings

Olvia Vertine Watkins was born on May 2nd, 1876 in Warren County, North Carolina to James Rives Watkins and Martha Talley. She married Thomas Judkins Stallings on April 18th 1899 in Warren, North Carolina. He was born around 1858 to James and Caroline Stallings. Oliva died on March 15th 1962. I am unaware of Thomas’ death at this moment. Thomas was a farmer.

Oliva and Thomas had at least seven children:

1. Arline Vastine Stallings (1900-)

2. Myrtle Olivia Stallings (1902-) who married Sol Benjamin Fleming and had at least 16 children (Myrtle Ruth Fleming, Living, Johnnie Winston Fleming, Arneta Rivers Fleming, Living, Sol Benjamin Fleming, Elanor Frances Fleming, Living, Howard Macon Fleming, Living, Living, Living, Living, Living, Living, Living).

3. James Tasker Stallings (1904-14 Apr 1989) who married ? and had at least three children.

4. Selma Stallings (1906-)

5. Ruby Stallings (1909-)

6. Thomas Wallace Stallings (18 Jul 1915- 14 Sep 2004) who married Kathareen Overby and had at least one child.

7. Erma Earl Stallings

Census Records:

1900: Can’t find them yet.

1910: Thomas J Stallings is 56 and a farmer. Oliva is 33 and they have been married for 11 years. She has had five children and they were all living at the time of this census. Everyone and their parents were born in North Carolina.

1920: Thomas is 66 and is still a farmer. Oliva is 43. All their children except Mrytle are still living with them.
