August Vonderlehr was born around 1869 to Augustus Vonderlehr and Virginia Protzman in Richmond, Virginia. He married Margaret Estelle Hulcher on the 10th of June 1896 in Richmond, Virginia. She was born in September 1861 in Richmond, Virginia to Frank and Elizabeth Hulcher. She died on the 14th of August 1908. After her death, August married a woman named Mary.

She is living with her daughter Maggie Vonderlehr who is 38, her son-in-law August Vonderlehr who is 38 and a machinist, her grandson Raymond Vonderlehr who is 3, her daughter Nellie Hulcher who is 24, her son Frank Hulcher who is 22 and boarders James T and Edna Rouse (age 49 and age 26 respectively).

1910: August Vonderlehr is 40 and widowed. He is still a machinist. Also living with his are his son Raymond Vonderlehr who is 12 and his sister in law Nellie Hulcher who is 37 and a housekeeper.

1920: August Vonderlehr is 50 and has remarried to Mary. He is now a printer. He has adopted a son named Hamilton Gough who is 18 and a waiter. He also has adopted a girl named Grace West who is 23. Also living with him are James Snellings who is 69 and an overseer on a farm. His sister in law from his last marriage is also still living with him. She is 47.

1930: August and Mary are both 60. He is still in the paper business. Still living with his is previous sister in law Nellie Hulcher who is now 57.

Eleanor Agnes Vonderlehr and Charles Neisz

Eleanor Agnes Vonderlehr was born on the 21st of March 1863 in Richmond, Virginia to Augustus Vonderlehr and Virginia Protzman. She married Charles Neisz on the 1st of December 1882 in Richmond, Virginia. He was born on the 15th of February 1861 in Richmond, Virginia. His parents were Charles Neisz and Helena Roescher. Charles died on the 10th April 1928 in Richmond and Eleanor died on the 22nd of June 1934. All this is sourced to this website.

Augustus Vonderlehr was born around 1839 in Germany (maybe Hesse Cassel, Kurhessen). He married Virginia Protzman. She was born around 1842 in Germany (maybe Sachen). Died of Paralysis

Mrs. M.V. Vonderlehr, the lady who was stricken with paralysis Friday morning while visiting her sister, Mrs. C. Gregory, on Chelsea Hill, died yesterday. She was in the forty-eighth year of her age. The funeral will take place from St. Mary’s Catholic church this afternoon at 4 o’clock.

1860: Cannot find them.

1870: Augustus Vonderlehr is 31 and an engine builder. The value of his real estate is 1,100. He is listed as being from Hesse Cassel. Virginia Vonderlehr is 28 and is from Saxony. Nora is 7 and August is 1.

1880: Augustus has died. Virginia is living at 208 East Marshall Street with the children. Eleanor is 17, August is 11, and Bertha is 9.

Henry Fisher and Mary Bertha Vonderlehr

Henry Fisher was born in May 1870 in Virginia. His parents were Albin T Fisher and Frances A Brown. He married Mary Bertha Vonderlehr on 19 Jan 1892 in Richmond,Virginia. Her parents were Augustus Vonderlehr and Virginia Protzman. She was born in Aug 1871 in Virginia. Henry died in the 1910′s. Bertha was alive in the 1930 census.

1900: They are living in Norfolk City at the time at 30 Ave A. Henry is 30 and Bertha is 27. Ethel is 5m Estelle is 3, and Madeline is 1.

1910: They are living in Richmond,VA at 612 Clay Street. Henry is 39 and a stone fitter. Bertha is 38. Ethel is a bookbinder and is 16, Estelle is 13, Madeline is 11, Alva is 9, Henry is 6, and Burt is 1.

1920: Bertha is widowed and 48. Children still living with her: Madeline (who is 20), Alva (who is 16), Henry (who is 15), and Burt (who is 11). Also living with them are Jacob Miller (who is 25) and his children Mary (who is 3 1/4) and Frances (who is 1 1/2). Jacob was married to Ethel who died after 1918 but before 1920. Jacob was born in Maryland. They live at 610 Sixth Street in Richmond. Henry is a window dresser and Jacob is a printer.

1930: The family is living at 4407 Forest Hill Ave. Bertha M Fisher is 57. Living with her are her son Burt Fisher (who is 21), her daughter Madeline (who is 28), her granddaughters Mary V Miller (who is 13) and Frances M Miller (who is 12). Also living with her are her daughter Alva Chalkley (who is 26) and her husband Joseph Chalkley (who is 45) and children Joseph A Chalkley Jr (who is 16), Walter E Chalkley (who is 11). Burt is a clerk at a store, Joseph is a manager at Iron Works, and Joseph Jr is a helper at Iron Works.
