August Vonderlehr was born around 1869 to Augustus Vonderlehr and Virginia Protzman in Richmond, Virginia. He married Margaret Estelle Hulcher on the 10th of June 1896 in Richmond, Virginia. She was born in September 1861 in Richmond, Virginia to Frank and Elizabeth Hulcher. She died on the 14th of August 1908. After her death, August married a woman named Mary.
They had at least two children:

1910: August Vonderlehr is 40 and widowed. He is still a machinist. Also living with his are his son Raymond Vonderlehr who is 12 and his sister in law Nellie Hulcher who is 37 and a housekeeper.
1920: August Vonderlehr is 50 and has remarried to Mary. He is now a printer. He has adopted a son named Hamilton Gough who is 18 and a waiter. He also has adopted a girl named Grace West who is 23. Also living with him are James Snellings who is 69 and an overseer on a farm. His sister in law from his last marriage is also still living with him. She is 47.
1930: August and Mary are both 60. He is still in the paper business. Still living with his is previous sister in law Nellie Hulcher who is now 57.
